In the first innings, India, being put to bat first, made a good score of 167 runs for loss of 8 wickets in the 20 overs, with Shubman Gill being the main scorer with a composed innings of 46 runs off 39 balls. He was well assisted by Abhishek Sharma (28) and Suryakumar Yadav (20), while Axar Patel added a quick cameo down the order which boosted the total.
